October 13, six months before the opening of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai
October 13, 2024, a beautiful autumn day in Japan, marks the half-year before the opening of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan on April 13, 2025. It feels like it was just a year ago, and I am amazed at how fast time flies!
Events were held in various locations to coincide with October 13, six months ago. Since it was the middle day of a three-day weekend, many general participants gathered and the event was a great success. Among the many events, here is a report on the events held in Tokyo and Osaka♪

The Tokyo venue was graced with a splendid lineup of guests! MYAKU-MYAKU also came to the venue!
Tokyo held the “Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan Visit Date and Time Bookings Kick-off Event”.
The event featured emcee Hiromi Kawada, special supporters Munetaka Aoki, Yuuchami, Yuichami, Ai Haruna, Hello Kitty, and Kumamon. Special guests included Olympic judo medalists Hifumi Abe and his siblings, Uta Abe, and other splendid guests.

Hiromi Kawada and Munetaka Aoki gave an update on the Expo using a panel showing a panoramic view of the entire Expo site, and explained how to reserve a date and time to visit the Expo, which began six months ago on October 13, 2024.

In addition, Morizo & Kiccoro, the official characters of Expo 2005 Aichi, Japan, presented a cheering baton to MYAKU-MYAKU to celebrate six months ago! Many may have been surprised by the appearance of these nostalgic Expo characters.
The baton was passed from Aichi in 2005 to Osaka in 2025. We were able to witness a memorable moment!

Other guests interacted with each other in a friendly atmosphere, including roundtable discussions.
Ai Haruna said, “It is wonderful to have an experience that changes your sense of values at the Expo. I want children to participate in the Expo and see the future.” It was a very exciting event, as she said, There are moments that can only be experienced at the Expo!

Osaka’s Dotonbori and Ame-mura areas were painted in the colors of the Expo
Various events were held in Osaka, the stage for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai!
In Dotonbori, which is visited by tourists from Japan and abroad, the “Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai Six Months Before the Opening Event in Dotonbori” event was held.
In addition to NMB48 members Koyori Itagaki, Yayoi Tatsumoto and Sakura Matsuoka, special guests Katsuhiro Higo and Jimon Terakado of the “Dacho Club (Ostrich Club)” and guest MC Goe Asagoe of “The Plan 9” participated in talk shows and a countdown ceremony. The countdown ceremony was also held!

When the PR video for the Expo was aired on the landmark “Dotonbori Glico Sign” in Osaka, the entire venue came together to count down! A large number of spectators and tourists gathered to feel the excitement of Osaka.

In addition, “Amemura EXPO- Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai 6 Months to Go!” was held in Amerikamura, near Dotonbori, for three consecutive weekends from October 12 (Sat.) to 14 (Mon.), 2024.
The event featured the Expo Stage, which provided easy-to-understand information on the attractions of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai and how to buy tickets, as well as a dance show by a dance crew from the Kansai region and live performances by hot singers, which created a whirlwind of excitement at the venue!

Another highlight was the live painting by up-and-coming graffiti artist CHOB-ONE (SELF SATISFACTION CREW), which is a must-see in Ame-mura, where street art is abundant.

The audience was excited by the performances, which were a perfect fit for Ame-mura, the center of young culture in Kansai!

There will also be a drone show at Nanko!
On Saturday, October 12, 2024, ATC Umiere Plaza (Nanko, Osaka) hosted “More than you can imagine! is the Expo, 6 Months to go! Special Drone Show” was held on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
After six months since the last drone show, which was a surprise event held one year before the opening of the Expo, MYAKU-MYAKU and the Expo’s catchphrase floated in the night sky!

Advance notice had been given for this event, so many people gathered at the Nanko (Osaka South Port)!
As many as 500 drones flew around and painted various scenes, people cheered from all over the place. It was a wonderful drone show that kept people excited and anticipating the opening of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai.

The Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai is becoming more and more anticipated. Have you got your tickets yet?
The events held six months prior to the opening of the Expo were very exciting at all locations. Through the various events, I sensed a growing sense of anticipation and awareness of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai is spreading.
As was explained at the Tokyo event, “reservations for the date and time of your visit” for Expo tickets have already begun. No two days at the Expo are the same! Events will be held on different days.
