YOHO BREWING, one of Japan craft beer brewers, has opened “Yona Yona Beerise,” an experiential brewery, in Rinku Town, Osaka.

Midsummer is now in full swing in Japan. On hot days like this, you just want to drink a cold beer.
Today, I’d like to introduce “YOHO BREWING Osaka Brewery & Yona Yona Beerise,” which recently opened in Izumisano City, Osaka. Kodawari Times attended the preview event, so I’ll be sharing all the highlights, from the brewery tour to the taproom.

“Yona Yona Beerise” Opens Near Osaka’s Kansai International Airport

“YOHO BREWING” is a Japanese craft beer brewery founded in Karuizawa, Nagano Prefecture, in 1997. It offers a wide range of distinctive, aromatic ales—such as “Yona Yona Ale” and “Wednesday Cat”—and is beloved by fans both in Japan and abroad.
On July 23, 2026, this most famous brewery in Japan opened a new brewery in Izumisano City, Osaka Prefecture. It is called the “YOHO BREWING Osaka Brewery · Yona Yona Beerise.”

Located about a 4-minute walk from “Rinku Town” Station—the station immediately before Kansai Airport Station, the gateway to the Kansai region—it offers convenient access for tourists using Kansai Airport.
Crossing the pedestrian bridge directly connected to the station and heading north, you’ll see a building featuring a massive mural depicting Yona Yona Ale, with the moon as its motif. It serves as a striking landmark that instantly identifies the building as a craft beer brewery.

The name “Beerise” at Yona Yona Beerise is a portmanteau of “beer” and “surprise,” and its concept is “Peaceful surprises with beer!” It’s not just a brewery—it’s an experiential brewery where you can enjoy beer as a form of entertainment.
Now, let’s take a look at some recommended experiences at Yona Yona Beerise, Osaka’s newest tourist attraction.

 

TAP: Enjoy Freshly Brewed & Diverse Craft Beers

When it comes to the joys of a brewery, it’s definitely drinking beer, isn’t it? 🍺
In the center of the Yona Yona Beerise facility is a taproom where you can enjoy a variety of craft beers. Beyond the glass walls, rows of beer brewing tanks are lined up, giving you a taste of the authentic atmosphere.

At “KURADASHI TAP,” you can pour and enjoy freshly brewed beer yourself from a dedicated tap connected directly to the brewing area. But when I actually tried pouring it, it turned out to be harder than I thought! I ended up with too much foam. Still, the fresh and aromatic Yona Yona Ale was absolutely delicious—it really lifted my spirits♪

If you head to the other side, you’ll find “YORIDORI TAP,” where you can enjoy up to 14 different types of craft beer. You can sample a variety of unique craft beers, including pale ales, IPAs, and Belgian whites.

If you’re not sure which beer to choose, we recommend the “BEER FLIGHT,” which lets you select three varieties from the entire beer menu. It’s served in three 125ml glasses.

I chose the “Sinless Satan” IPA (0.7% ABV), the “Boku Beer Kimi Beer” Saison-style beer (4.5% ABV), and the “Dondabada” Freestyle Belgian Golden Ale (6.0% ABV). Since they’re arranged from left to right in order of lowest to highest alcohol content, I’ll taste them in that order.

The flavors and aromas are all completely different! They’re all delicious, but I especially liked “Sinless Satan.” I was surprised that a low-alcohol beer could taste this good! With its vibrant aroma and refreshing aftertaste, it’s perfect for any meal or occasion.

They also offer food that pairs well with craft beer, so why not enjoy a beer with some snacks?
Plus, there are spaces set up both indoors and outdoors where you can enjoy your beer, so you can savor it in whatever style you like, no matter the occasion.

 

Brewery Tour

Next, as a unique brewery experience, they offer the “Adult Brewery Tour,” where visitors can enjoy the production floor with all five senses. We were able to experience a small part of the tour during the Private viewing.

First, you’ll learn about the different types of beer and their ingredients in the brewers’ room. It’s said that there are over 150 types of beer worldwide, but the ingredients can be broadly categorized into just four.
Apparently, by adjusting the combinations and proportions of malt, hops, water, and yeast, you can create beers with a wide variety of flavors!

And right here in front of you is one of the raw ingredients: “malt.” There are many different types of malt, and it serves as the essential base for creating a beer’s color and flavor. You can experience the differences between various malts by smelling them and even tasting them.

After learning about beer, we’ll get an inside look at an actual, operational brewery. The rows of beer tanks are a truly spectacular sight. It feels really special to be able to enter a production facility that’s normally off-limits to the public.

This large bag contains “malt,” one of the raw ingredients used to make beer. Believe it or not, each bag weighs 1 metric ton! They’re using the largest size available, and apparently, the amount in a single bag is enough to make 22,000 350-milliliter cans of beer.

This is the mashing process, which produces the “wort” that forms the basis of beer. I was able to watch as crushed malt and water were mixed together. It’s amazing to think that this liquid will eventually become beer.

After adding yeast to initiate fermentation and produce alcohol, the beer is aged in storage tanks to develop a well-rounded flavor. Once the beer is canned, it’s ready to go.

The tour ended with a beer tasting! We got to try freshly brewed beer poured straight from the tank. It had a fresher, more refreshing flavor than the beer I usually drink. Knowing how beer is made really makes it taste even better.

During the actual tour, you can also sample five different types of craft beer. It’s great that beer tasting is included!

Japanese craft beer and original merchandise as souvenirs

The on-site shop, “4747SHOP,” stocks a variety of canned craft beers from Yoho Brewing. You can pick up your favorite beers from Yona Yona Beerise to take home as souvenirs. The shop also offers a range of unique original merchandise, such as T-shirts and towels.

Original glasses for Yona Yona Beerise and Yona Yona Ale. I highly recommend them because they’re cute and practical.

Items featuring craft beer cans turned into patches are cute, too.

There’s even a hot spring towel with “Yonayona no Yu” printed on it! Made in Japan in Senshu Area of Osaka—a region famous for its towels—the quality is top-notch. With this towel and a beer, you can easily enjoy the feeling of being at a hot spring.

 

Plenty of fun experiences

The appeal of Yona Yona Beerise is that it’s about more than just drinking beer.

With the “BEER LOG CAN” custom can-making activity, you can decorate an empty can and take it home as a souvenir.

In the “Brewing is Art and Science” exhibition area, which explores craft beer from various perspectives, you can enjoy a variety of interactive experiences.

And there are plenty of photo spots! Grab a beer and strike a big smile for the camera.

 

An event is currently being held at the nearby hotel, “OMO Kansai Airport.”

“Yona Yona Beerise” plays a key role in revitalizing the Rinku Town area of Izumisano City. To coincide with its opening, the “Yona Yona Gokinjo Beer Garden” is being held at the nearby Hoshino Resorts urban hotel, “OMO Kansai Airport by Hoshino Resorts.”

Enjoy Japanese craft beer at a hands-on brewery

“Yona Yona Beerise” is a new-concept, experiential brewery where you can enjoy craft beer—which is currently taking the world by storm—from every angle. This new hotspot is drawing attention as a hub for promoting Japan’s craft beer culture to the world. Be sure to visit it as one of Osaka’s tourist attractions.

Currently, it’s open three days a week—Friday, Saturday, and Sunday—and admission requires a reservation. Don’t forget to book in advance on the official website!

Additionally, Rinku Town in Izumisano City—the gateway to the Kansai region—features a Premium Outlets mall and hotels, making it the perfect place to start and end your trip to Osaka. In the future, the area adjacent to Yona Yona Beerise is set to see the opening of a hands-on gelato facility and a café attached to a ham and sausage factory. Rinku Town is sure to become even more vibrant, so be sure to pay it a visit.
