Review of “Samoyed Cafe moffu, Osaka Shinsaibashi”

Hello! I’m Rina, a writer for Kodawari Times.
Cat cafes, owl cafes, Shiba Inu cafes, and more… cafes where you can interact with cute animals are popular as a uniquely Japanese subculture.

This time, I visited the “Samoyed Cafe moffu Osaka Shinsaibashi,” which is attracting attention not only within Japan but also from overseas! Check out the charm of these pure white, fluffy Samoyeds with their charming smiles, and experience this new kind of animal cafe that offers a fun, entertaining experience.

Samoyed Cafe moffu

The Samoyed is a large dog breed native to Siberia that is popular for its friendly and gentle nature. Its trademark features are its pure white, fluffy coat and its adorable, smile-like expression—known as the “Samoyed smile.”

“Samoyed Cafe moffu,” where you can interact with Samoyeds up close, is a concept cafe with two locations in Harajuku, Tokyo, and one in Shinsaibashi, Osaka.
The concept is “a second home.” In this warm and welcoming space where you’re greeted with a “Welcome home,” you can relax and enjoy a soothing time with the Samoyeds.

We maintain rigorous hygiene standards, and the Samoyeds’ health is well taken care of. You can interact with these energetic Samoyeds in a clean and comfortable environment.
In addition, the site features an official English website, an English booking form, and English-language information, making it a hugely popular destination where international tourists can enjoy the experience with peace of mind.

Review of the Osaka Shinsaibashi Store Experience

This time, I visited “Samoyed Cafe moffu Osaka Shinsaibashi,” located in Osaka’s Ame-mura area, which attracts many tourists! I actually spent an hour there, so I’ll review the highlights.

First, check-in

The entrance to “Samoyed Cafe moffu Osaka Shinsaibashi” is located on the second floor, accessible via a red-carpet-style staircase designed to resemble a theater. As you step inside the upscale interior, you’ll hear energetic “Woof, woof!” barks.

At the reception counter, friendly staff with warm smiles will welcome you. “Samoyed Cafe moffu Osaka Shinsaibashi” operates on a one-hour time slot system starting at the top of every hour during business hours (with announcements made 5 minutes prior), and you can book your visit in advance or on the day of your visit.

Since same-day reservations may not be available depending on how busy the cafe is, it’s best to book in advance using the reservation form on the official website for peace of mind.

This place also offers private room packages—a rare feature for animal cafes! You can relax and interact with Samoyeds in a private space with your family and friends. If you’re visiting with children under 6, we recommend booking a private room.

To the Samoyed’s Room

Once you’ve checked in, it’s finally time to visit the room where the Samoyeds are.
At “Samoyed Cafe moffu Osaka Shinsaibashi,” each visitor is assigned one dog, and you’ll receive a capsule with your name on it.

Samoyed Cafe moffu: Capsule, the Cafe's Mascot Dog

First, let’s start by finding the dog I’m in charge of. The color of the name written on the capsule matches the color of the dog’s collar, so I’ll use that as a clue to find her.
The dog I’m in charge of is Souffle. I wonder where the dog with the beige collar is~??

I look around, but since it’s 1:00 p.m., many of the dogs are taking a nap. I check around their necks, but their collars are hidden beneath their fluffy fur.
I gently part the fur so as not to wake them… and there it is—beige! I found Souffle right away! Nice to meet you, Souffle.

When the staff member spotted the dog they were in charge of, they ran over and told me that Souffle has a carefree and cheerful personality. After that, Souffle woke up, so she showed off her tricks—such as “sit,” “shake,” “rest your chin,” and “touch nose.” I gave Souffle a treat as a reward for doing such a great job.

Souffle, who can do all sorts of tricks

This time, I’m going to give it a try, too. When I hold the treat up high, she sits right down. He’s so cute. Since he nailed it, here’s another treat.
He’s so smart—he showed off his trick right away, even though it was our first meeting!

Optional snack box and a photo session while holding a Samoyed

If you run out of the treats you received at the start, you can purchase a Treat Box as an optional item. Since these are special treats, the Samoyeds will gather around when they hear the sound. If you’d like to be surrounded by Samoyeds, be sure to buy a Treat Box.

Giving a Samoyed a treat as a reward

In addition, we offer an option for photos where you can hold the dog. You can request a Samoyed that’s comfortable being held and take a commemorative photo together.

Option for Photos While Holding the dog

Since they typically weigh between 20 and 30 kg, you can really feel their substantial weight and fluffy coat against your skin. They’re very calm when you hold them, and some even fall asleep right there in your arms. It’s such a blissful moment that you’ll want to hold them forever—I highly recommend giving it a try!

Fun events are also held

One of the attractions here is not only the chance to interact with Samoyeds but also the variety of fun events held here.
For example, as part of a monthly event, the store’s decorations change. When I visited in August, the theme was “Summer Festival.”

The Samoyeds, illustrated wearing traditional Japanese festival happi coats, are so cute! With illustrations of food stalls and lantern decorations, you can really get into the festival spirit. And it wasn’t just about the decorations—we also had fun taking photos with Snow, who was actually wearing a festival happi coat.

In addition, we’re holding a raffle event. Each person gets to draw one ball from a box, and depending on the result, you could win discount coupons for merchandise or a free gacha spin. It takes place right before the end of the one-hour trial session, so be sure to join in!

The hour flew by. I spent plenty of time interacting with the Samoyeds—taking photos and sharing treats—and it was truly heartwarming. Of course, the Samoyeds were adorable, but the staff’s thoughtfulness and communication were also wonderful, and I enjoyed myself from start to finish without a moment of boredom!

Cute merchandise is also available

Samoyed Cafe moffu: Original Merchandise for Sale

After the experience is over, you can purchase Samoyed merchandise.
We offer a variety of original merchandise, including popular Cheki photos, acrylic keychains, and postcards. Why not pick up some merchandise featuring the dog you were in charge of or your favorite dog as a souvenir?

Let the Samoyed’s smile melt your heart!

At “Samoyed Cafe moffu Osaka Shinsaibashi,” located in America-mura, Osaka, you can interact with friendly Samoyeds and enjoy a relaxing time. The staff also helps liven up the atmosphere, making it feel like an attraction.

It’s a spot highly recommended for creating memories during your Osaka trip or for animal lovers, so be sure to stop by. The fluffy Samoyeds will welcome you with their absolutely adorable “Samoyed smiles.”

Let the Samoyed's smile soothe your soul
