Guitars made in Japan by the world-renowned instrument manufacturer “Fender” are beloved by fans overseas as Japanese souvenirs. Today, I’m going to introduce Fender’s new Japan-exclusive collection: the “Made in Japan Limited Japan-Inspired Collection Stratocaster®.”

Fender’s Japan-Exclusive Collection
Fender Music K.K. (located in Shibuya Ward, Tokyo) is the Japanese subsidiary of the U.S. guitar manufacturer “Fender.” The “Made in Japan” electric guitars, each carefully crafted with exceptional craftsmanship, are highly popular not only in Japan but also overseas.
Fender Japan has launched the “Made in Japan Limited Japan-Inspired Collection Stratocaster®”—a Japan-exclusive collection inspired by traditional Japanese culture and aesthetics—which went on sale exclusively at the Fender Flagship Tokyo in Harajuku, Tokyo, and the official Fender Japan online store starting Friday, August 21, 2026.
For this collection, we’ve selected five themes—[Kyoto], [Samurai], [Aizome], [Ninja], and [Matcha]—as symbols of Japanese culture that are widely loved not only in Japan but also overseas.
By incorporating the colors, designs, and materials that symbolize each theme, we’ve infused the essence of Japanese culture into these guitars through Fender’s unique design approach.
Of course, we’ve also maintained the high standards of playability, sound, and quality you’ve come to expect from Fender, resulting in guitars with distinctive looks that reflect each theme.
It also features the well-regarded alder body, equipped with the newly designed Hybrid II Custom Voiced Single Coil pickup. Additionally, it incorporates a two-point tremolo system with vintage-style saddles, vintage locking tuners, a Modern “C” shape neck, a 9.5-inch radius fingerboard, and medium-jumbo frets, achieving a high-level fusion of traditional Fender design and modern playability.
What’s more, each model features special specifications designed to express its unique aesthetic, including theme-specific colors, matching heads, original inlays, and aluminum pickguards.

Kyoto: Made in Japan Limited Japan-Inspired Collection Stratocaster®, Kyoto Orange
The color scheme is inspired by the vivid vermilion torii gates. It captures the beauty of Kyoto’s traditional architecture, as well as the calm and elegance characteristic of Japan.
Samurai: Made in Japan Limited Japan-Inspired Collection Stratocaster®, Katana Silver
It features a black-and-silver color scheme inspired by a sword. The design has a striking presence that expresses the strength and sharpened spirit of a samurai.
Aizome: Made in Japan Limited Japan-Inspired Collection Stratocaster®, Indigo Denim
This model draws inspiration from Japan’s ancient Aizome indigo-dyeing tradition. By applying authentic Japanese-made denim fabric to the body, it achieves a rich, deep look and a unique texture, creating a distinctive presence that only traditional materials can offer.
Ninja: Made in Japan Limited Japan-Inspired Collection Stratocaster®, Ninjya Black
Featuring a custom design that captures the essence of the ninja world—including the character “忍(The kanji character “nin” in “ninja”)” emblazoned on the custom aluminum pickguard and original inlays inspired by shuriken—this is a truly special guitar that elevates stealth and functional beauty into a modern design.
Matcha: Made in Japan Limited Japan-Inspired Collection Stratocaster®, Matcha Green
With a soothing green reminiscent of matcha as its base, this design expresses a sense of beauty unique to Japan. The gentle colors and refined appearance create a high-quality, warm atmosphere.
