Autograph Daruma Journey: Touring Five Hotels Across Japan

In 2025, Japan saw the fastest-ever growth in international visitors, surpassing 30 million. Centered around Osaka, host city of the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, a rush of luxury hotel openings continues.
Among them, the “Osaka Station Hotel, Autograph Collection,” which opened in 2024 and is directly connected to JR Osaka Station, is drawing attention as a hotel offering exceptional access and extraordinary experiences.
This time, we introduce a traveling campaign featuring daruma doll gifts, held at Autograph Collection hotels across Japan, including the Osaka Station Hotel.

Coming in 2026! Autograph Daruma Journey

The Autograph Collection celebrates the individuality of over 330 independent hotels, each nestled in the most captivating destinations across more than 50 countries and regions.
Japan boasts five distinctive properties: Osaka Station Hotel, The Prince Kyoto Takaragaike, The Prince Sakura Tower Tokyo, TIAD, and Mesm Tokyo.

The Autograph Daruma Journey campaign invites guests to collect and travel with the limited-edition Autograph Daruma, a palm-sized collectible that encapsulates each hotel’s unique character.

Running from January 1, 2026, for approximately one year, this journey transforms stays into a collection experience. Each daruma, a traditional Japanese good-luck charm, features the hotel’s signature color and iconic design elements.

The Five-Figure Autograph Daruma Journey

This initiative visualizes the worldview of Autograph Collection Hotels, which champions the concept of “Exactly Like Nothing Else.” The approach of expressing the brand’s appeal and each hotel’s unique character through traditional Japanese daruma dolls is truly novel.
Why not start collecting them? Fill each one you encounter across Japan with memories of your stays and experiences from your travels.

▲A daruma design inspired by the shape created when punching a ticket, expressing the accumulation of time.

Inspired by railway heritage that weaves memories of the original Osaka Station, which opened in 1874, this design features the motif of ticket punch dies used at major stations in Western Japan. The pattern of daruma figures fluttering down symbolizes the accumulation of time, while the colors—gold and black, reflecting the hotel’s logo—embody the aspiration to take strong root in this land. A classic, luxurious design.

▲Daruma design expressing Kyoto’s culture and quality through iron door motifs and Japanese-style designs

The iron door of BAR ASCOT, symbolizing architect Togo Murano’s aesthetic sensibility, serves as the motif expressing the hotel’s timeless spirit. Infused with Japanese design elements reminiscent of a kimono sash, the design embodies the harmony between Kyoto’s local culture and refined quality.
The design of the kanji character for “treasure” (宝), also featured in the hotel’s name, is truly lovely. Why not make this daruma your lifelong treasure?

▲A daruma design evoking the beauty of the four seasons with cherry blossom hues and floral patterns, expressing the resonance of a bell in a Japanese garden

The soft cherry blossom hues and floral patterns echoing the Japanese garden express a sense of renewal throughout the seasons. The Autograph Daruma, evoking the beauty of the four seasons, captures scenes unique to each moment and the resonant chime of the bell—a symbol of the Japanese garden—as time flows by. With cherry blossoms as its seasonal theme, it evokes a dignified Japanese aesthetic. Enjoy a stay immersed in Japanese sentiment right in the city center, within a tranquil space harmonizing with the seasons. This design is recommended for those who love Japanese Sakura (cherry blossoms).

TIAD, Autograph Collection

▲A daruma design expressing Nagoya’s history and culture through the dynamic energy of Yabane (arrow feathers)

The motif of Yabane (arrow feathers), inspired by the origin of the name Yabacho in Nagoya—home to TIAD—and the site of the Owari Tokugawa clan’s archery range (a place where bow shooting practice took place), conveys the dynamic energy of each yabane (arrow feather) through brush-drawn lines, communicating Nagoya’s history and culture. During your hotel stay, experience the theme of the “Green Corridor,” where art and wellness converge through activities like the gym/pool and art appreciation.

▲A daruma design expressing the city’s dynamism through wave-like gold patterns and characters

The design features gold brushstrokes layered over midnight blue, embodying the rhythm and contrast of the brand concept “TOKYO WAVES.” The gold pattern evoking waves and the central “東京波 (TOKYO WAVES)” lettering symbolize the city’s dynamism, aspiration, and driving force. This design expresses Tokyo’s vibrancy and stylish atmosphere, with the central calligraphy also conveying a distinctly Japanese feel.
