I visited the Expo 2025 Official Store! What are MYAKU-MYAKU’s most popular items?

Speaking of 2025, Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan is finally here. I am eagerly awaiting the opening of the Expo! So, I visited the Expo 2025 Official Store to get a taste of the Expo as soon as possible! Here are some items from the popular MYAKU-MYAKU character, the official character of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, as well as some collaborations with other characters.

The Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan Official Store opened its official online store in April 2023 and its first store in Abeno Harukas in September 2023. Now it has expanded to 9 stores in Osaka and 20 stores in Hokkaido, Tokyo, and other areas throughout Japan. (As of February 2025)
I have been to these stores while shopping because they are in department stores that many tourists visit! I’m sure there are people who have seen them! I’m sure there are people who have seen them before.

At the Expo 2025 Official Store, you will find MYAKU-MYAKU merchandise, as well as products with the official logo and collaboration goods with various companies and characters. The variety of merchandise ranges from small items to apparel to confectionery. A quick look at the online store shows that there are more than 1,400 items for sale!
With so many products to choose from, it’s hard to decide which one to buy!

So this time, we visited the “Expo 2025 Official Store Daimaru Umeda” located in the Daimaru Umeda Store, a department store right next to Osaka Station, and asked the store staff about popular items. Please refer to them when making your purchases.

MYAKU-MYAKU Omikuji Key Chain

This key holder is based on a fortune-telling card often found at shrines and temples. When you tilt the main body of the Key Chain, a lottery ticket with your fortune written on it, such as “Chukyoshi” (middle fortune), will come out just like the real thing. The different styles of MYAKU-MYAKU designs are also cute. Why don’t you attach it to your bag and tell your fortune every day?

Acrylic Key Chain

Die-cut acrylic key chains with miniature parts of “EXPO 2025” that are easily recognizable as souvenirs of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai. There are simple ones with just MYAKU-MYAKU, and others with silhouettes of Osaka Castle, blowfish, and other famous landmarks and MYAKU-MYAKU.

MYAKU-MYAKU 3D PVC Key Chain

For those who love MYAKU-MYAKU, we recommend this key ring. It is a three-dimensional PVC key ring with a smaller MYAKU-MYAKU as it is. The lively MYAKU-MYAKU is too cute! Attach it to the zipper of your clothes or bag, and you can be with MYAKU-MYAKU anytime, anywhere.

MYAKU-MYAKU Frame Magnet

Acrylic magnets in two MYAKU-MYAKU designs and an official logo design. Some people always buy magnets as souvenirs from their trips, so magnets are an item that cannot be missed.
The reasonable price of 1,320 yen (tax included) for three different kinds is also a plus.

MYAKU-MYAKU Tenugui Hand Towel & Furoshiki

Tenugui hand towels and furoshiki cloths are recommended as typical Japanese items. The MYAKU-MYAKU design and the Expo colors of red and blue are wonderful. Tenugui is a towel used to wipe your hands and face, and furoshiki is a cloth used to wrap things, but they can be used in any way you like! You can wear it as a fashion item or display it on the wall as a tapestry.

Chocolate Crunch in a Barrel

There are many kinds of snacks to choose from, but here is one that our staff recommends: a barrel with EXPO 2025 and MYAKU-MYAKU printed on it, containing six pieces of chocolate crunch. After eating the chocolate crunch, you can use the barrel as a pen holder or accessory case.

Speaking of souvenirs, key chains and small magnets are still popular. In particular, omikuji (fortune) key chains are popular among foreigners because they have a uniquely Japanese flavor. The reasonable price of less than 1,000 yen for key chains and other small items is also a great point. It is recommended that you buy several of various patterns and distribute them to your friends and family members!

Kumamon Collaboration Tenugui Hand Towel, Kinchaku, Pin Badge

Next is a collaboration with Kumamon, the PR mascot character of Kumamoto Prefecture! Kumamon is a well-known character in Japan, but recently its popularity is spreading overseas, especially in Asia.

The collaboration products with Kumamon are these tenugui (hand towel) and kinchaku (purse). The tenugui comes in two colors, red and navy blue, and features a handsome design of Kumamon holding MYAKU-MYAKU. The dot pattern is a traditional Japanese pattern called “Mame-shibori”, which is said to be good for business and to ward off bad luck.

Other attractive features include three types of pin badges with unique expressions.

Komonohashi no Ikochan Key Chain

There were also a number of collaborative products with JR West’s official character “Kamonohashi no Ikochan”. The character is designed on the “ICOCA” transportation system IC card, which is used mainly in the Kansai region. Surprisingly, the character is also recognized as an ICOCA character by foreigners and is very popular!

There are a variety of collaboration goods of Kamonohashi no Ikochan, such as clear files and pin badges, but the most popular item is the key chain!
The three charms include a MYAKU-MYAKU wrapped train running on JR West’s Osaka Loop Line, Doctor Yellow, and more. Recommended for train lovers!

Osaka Loop Line Collaboration Mug Cup

Speaking of recommendations for train lovers, how about this Osaka Loop Line collaboration mug?
It features a MYAKU-MYAKU wrapping train for Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai running on the JR Yumesaki Line of the Osaka Loop Line.
