Valentine’s Day on February 14th is just around the corner. In Japan, there’s a tradition of giving chocolate to someone special on Valentine’s Day, and the whole town is decked out in Valentine’s Day decorations.
This time, I’ll be sharing Valentine’s Day information from the Western confectionery brand “Club Harie,” which originated in Shiga Prefecture.

CLUB HARIE Valentine Collection 2026 at La Collina

CLUB HARIE was born as the Western confectionery division of the long-established Japanese sweets shop “Taneya.” It’s known as a brand famous for its fluffy, moist Baumkuchen.
The flagship store “La Collina Omihachiman,” located in Omihachiman City, Shiga Prefecture—the birthplace of both Taneya and CLUB HARIE—is a popular spot for tourists from Japan and abroad. You might know it, right?

Starting January 10, 2026, “La Collina Valentine” is underway at La Collina Omihachiman. The venue is the “Grand Roof” of the Food Garage Market, newly established in autumn 2025. Within this glass-enclosed space, you’ll find an extensive lineup unique to the flagship store, including new chocolate baums and heart brownies.

It’s a “Which Side Are You On?” showdown between Grand Chef Yamamoto and Chef Takeshi Shibata of Chez Shibata, who are friends!
This assortment includes the “Meiji Takenoko no Sato × Chez Shibata Hazelnut Praline with Yuzu and Lorraine Rock Salt,” supervised by Chef Shibata, so be sure to try them side by side.
